Our Developing Mind

Give Yourself a Challenge

This is one of the post that I’ve promised to you guys ( as I’ve mentioned on Life Update). To start things out let me get an excerpt from that post.

…I’m also gonna challenge you guys. A post about challenging one’s self to further surpass ourselves. A post that will surely make you relieve a quote that you may have heard a number of times.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

-Marianne Williamson

We are powerful beyond measure!

Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” – Albert Einstein

We are powerful beyond measure and the only person that is hindering it is ourselves. Our species have built and brought to life many magnificent things, technology, art, relationships,  verbal communication, and one of the things many people could be proud of, is dreams.

We have the ability to dream. We have the ability to let our thoughts run wild. To think of the impossible and play around it. To set foot on fantasy and make it real. We have the ability to build magnificent things, you could too.

Give Yourself a Challenge

There are many reasons on why you must give yourself a challenge.

You could be unmotivated, uninspired, tired, bummed, surrendered, I could go on but it just points to one meaning; You’ve stopped. You are maybe hindering yourself and others to growth and personal development.

My story (or yours too)

My life has been on slump for quite a while now, not as a whole but on some parts (Sort of, lol).

I haven’t been focused on my lifelong dreams.  I haven’t taken care of myself physically. I have isolated myself. I have forgotten to be serious about business. Various reasons just pointing out to the decrease of progress (or any at all) in my personal development.

How about you?

At some point in our lives maybe we’ve experienced it. Just doing our daily routine, going with the flow.

If you are not then good for you but this is not an excuse not to give yourself a challenge either.

Most of us are so stuck on our “comfort zone”, passive, nowhere to go. Are we contented? Are you contented?

Economists have said that we humans have a never ending wants; If you are contented and is happy it is ok, but maybe you could also look around you. Give yourself a challenge. Do something and be of service to others.  Now, that would be a challenge.

Always remember your dream

Don’t lose sight of your dream. Your dreams are your soul. Your Dreams are the ones that would bring you back to where you want to be.

People tend to forget their dreams. Sometimes it is not just because they are not so passionate about it. It is sometimes cause by letting other things interfere with what they really ought to do.

Work, family, errands, bills, friends. I’m not telling you to stop giving attention to them. I’m telling you to prioritize. In some people’s point of view it would be selfish, but pursuing your dreams can sometimes  need a little sacrifice.

You could give equal attention to your other priorities but keep in mind. Don’t lose sight of your dream. Don’t let the world and all of its man made problems get to you. Pursue what you want in life.

My challenge to you and to myself

My challenge is to get right back on track. That statement is so vague but I must say that I will take extra baby steps just to get back in my best condition.

Know or remember your goal. I’ve remembered one of my goals and that is to be a world class metal guitarist and to perform on world stage. I’ve also known another goal and that is to be fit again and to gain weight.

(Is Goal Setting Enough? A Simple Technique to Outgrow Yourself)

So far I can say that I’m back on my journey. I’ve met, and played together again with a friend after a long time. It will not be long until we can complete the band and make me play again in front of an audience. As for the fit part, I’m doing a 2500 push up challenge; The goal is 2500 push ups, I’m now on a 100. Soon I’d be able to have a complete 2500 and further into the future I can surpass it. I know I can.

Now I ask you? Do you have any dream that you’ve forgotten? Or just something you need to accomplish? Something you may want to go back to. Are you willing to go through struggle, sacrifice a little for you to fulfill it?

Go back. Today is always another chance. Do what you’ve got to do.

I know I can do mine. I know you can do yours to, cause we are just that… Powerful Beyond Measure.

Great Article! and so relevant in today’s information age. With the buzz over the Secret and the Law of Attraction slowly dying down it’s important to hold the belief in its Truth. We do create our reality. The millionaires and billionaires that all support the law of attraction, probably know what they’re talking about. By not visualizing, goal setting and then striving for them, we’re not going to be progressing at all. What is there to lose? Nothing, every great person that ever accomplished anything has at least a couple stories of failure. Set a goal, and do your best to achieve it; you might just surprise yourself!

That’s a new perspective Roger and Highly Relevant. Visualizing and Alignment are two important characteristics or components when one is wanting to achieve a goal

Thanks for sharing. This is really inspiring. It’s true that i like playing safe but thinking about it now, giving myself a challenge may lead me to discover my hidden skills and most probably will also motivate me to do good with my work. I’ll definitely try this! Thank you!
